A knight dressed with the help of an esquire and it could take an hour to become battle attired. In Victorian times, a lady sometimes dressed with the help of a maid, and took about the same length of time to become society ready. Imagine the corset tied in the back, the stockings, laced shoes, the hoop skirt, the coiffure and the hat/bonnet.
The Victorian had her parasol and purse. The knight had his sword, and sometimes spurs.
The suit of armor I admired online listed at a tad under $800 and was for someone four inches shorter than I am. The armor would be attractive standing in the corner of my dining room. But, it would have to be dusted.
